IT-Works has been working hard on developing a toolhead based on the E3D Titan Aero for the LulzBot TAZ 5 and 6 printers, and we’ll be releasing them soon!

The  E3D Titan Aero is a high quality, British made, light weight, compact integrated hotend and extruder that makes it easy to switch between flexible and solid filaments on your TAZ.

Available for both 3mm and 1.75mm filament!

The Titan Aero also is compatible with other E3D hotends and nozzles, giving you options for upgrading your toolhead.

IT-Works will replace your LulzBot PEI bed surface!

The PEI plastic bed surface sheet on LulzBot TAZ 5, TAZ 6, and Mini 3D printers is durable, low maintenance, and has great adhesion.
When it’s time to replace your PEI sheet, getting the adhesive removed is quite a bit of work, and installing the PEI sheet without big bubbles takes some practice.
IT-Works has been replacing PEI for our local clients, and we’re now ready to extend this service to everyone.

3D Printer helps improve radiation treatment

Cutting edge cancer radiation treatments are being developed using LulzBot 3D printers!

Alex Markovic is an oncologist at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley Colorado. Alex and his team came up with the idea of using scans of patients to create a 3D printed “bolus” mold that conforms precisely to each patient to optimize the distribution of radiation treatments.
After purchasing a LulzBot TAZ 6 and Flexydually v2 toolhead to test their designs, Alex and his team have received 3D Printer training and consulting from IT-Works 3D to improve their skills and results. It’s been a pleasure to do a small part to move this new medical treatment forward!

How to Clean the “Hobbed” Feed Bolt on a Lulzbot 3D Printer

If your 3D printer filament is not feeding correctly, or you hear clicking coming from the extruder, the ridged feed bolt “hobbed bolt” may have plastic fragments wedged into its ridges that push the filament into the extruder, and may need to be cleaned.  This short video shows you how to clean the hobbed bolt on a LulzBot 3D printer, and may prove helpful in cleaning other 3D printer extruders.
