Tired of changing Igus bushings on your X axis?  Tired of the excessive play on the X axis.  Now you can eliminate all the unwanted play by replacing your X axis with a Linear Rail Modification.

Description

This X axis is a complete drop in X axis for your TAZ printer.  Remove your entire X axis, and replace with this unit.  Direct replacement.

Comes with X end Motor, X End Idler, New Belt, New X carriage, and all other linear rail parts to make a complete X axis.  You will need to install your stepper motor, belt and wiring.  If you want precision bearings, those will need to be ordered separately.  It would also be a good time to replace your belts if need be.

At the moment, we only have a drop in kit for the TAZ 5 and 6.

The Workhorse and TAZ PRO X axis kits will need to be assembled by the user using some of the existing parts and screws.

    This upgrade was super simple to do, looks great and works great. I coupled this upgrade with the TAZ Y Axis Linear Rail upgrade from Itworks3D and It WORKS! Great! Customer support is also super and quick to respond!

    OK, this upgrade was even easier than the Y axis. It already comes assembled, with no drilling or modification from the previous rail system in place. You do have to remove the X axis motor and add it to the mount and tighten the belt (included).

    One note – when tightening the mount to the rail extrusions, make sure it is not PULLING or PUSHING the lead screws on the z-axis. I had to keep the x-axis mounts loose and run it up and down a few times to make sure it was aligned properly – otherwise, you’ll hear one or more motors grind to a halt as it pulls your lead screws out of alignment. Don’t ask me how I know that. 🙂 So just be aware that some minor adjustments may be necessary for each machine (due to any movement in shipping) but it’s as close to a drop-in improvement that I’ve ever seen.
