FILAMENT CLIPS

MODIFICATION #2 – FILAMENT CLIPS

It wasn’t until I started coming into the office with hubby that I realized how many different kinds of 3D Printer filament there were.  I just assumed the man had an addiction to the stuff, but nope, turns out there are tons of different types of filament out there.  All of them doing different things, having different strengths, and qualities!   Don’t even get me started on the specialty filament !!   Personally, I am a fan of the pink stuff, but that might have more to do with the fact that I am mom of four boys, five if you include hubby! 😉   I’ve got to sneak some girly stuff in here  and it also ensures that they won’t steal my filament!

I also have discovered that a brand new roll of filament is difficult to keep from unwinding.  There are small holes in the spool that can be used to push the filament through so it doesn’t unwind, but that is a little harder with a brand new roll.   Then I found this on Lulzbot’s site and gave it a try!  It looked a little bit small, but it works perfectly!  I printed this in pink ABS and am quite happy with the design!  Small, clips on easily, and holds the filament snugly.

3mm Filament Clip – Heart shaped” by Area51 licensed CC BY-SA makes it a snap to store filament, keeping it neatly wound for the next time you need it. And each clip prints in under five minutes.
